Another New York Fashion Week is behind us, and I don’t know about you but I’m feeling super inspired! There were some fabulous new looks on the runway this season. I was also delighted to see some of my own recent themes trending among the collections.

Gucci, savagely flawless. As always.

Here’s a breakdown of some of my personal faves from NYFW, along with some suggestions from my own collections so you can be fabulously ready to Fall into Style!

One of the top trends this year was wide leg denim. Thank the lord we can say bye bye skinny jeans! I always find a wide leg jean to be more flattering on a variety of shapes and it’s also a chic style that you can dress up or down. Accompanying the return of wide leg denim on the runway were extra wide belts. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen those!

Another comeback kid this season was plaid. From jumpers and pantsuits to high-waisted pants and crop tops – plaid definitely came out to play this year! I love me any kind of plaid, but I have to say that vintage plaid is my first love. Side note: Your girl is hardcore on the hunt for some dead stock vintage plaid fabric! #needs

I was pretty stoked to see some union jacks show up on blouses and sweaters – y’all know I’m a serious anglophile! Something I wasn’t stoked to see on the runway? Fanny packs. Fanny. Freaking. Packs. Yeah, apparently those aren’t just for sunscreen-soaked Disney goers anymore. #nothankyou

Mmmm, cozy.

Alright, now let’s get down to brass tacks. Right now I am obsessing over Gucci – the creative director Alessandro Michele is O-M-G amazing! I’m drawing lots of inspiration from their newest runway parade of disco glitter and vibrant socks with sandals. Socks with sandals is a tourist trend I can actually get on board with! #fannypacks #notevenonce

Trench dressing is a big trend this season, and Michael Kors has this style down pat. Trench coats made into dresses, long sexy tops, or just layered. Love this trend! Super sexy and posh. Dior was incredible as always, and I continued to draw inspiration from their sublime cocktail of art and fashion this year. A new face on the runway was Cindy Crawford’s 16-year-old daughter, Kia Gerber, who made a big splash in her NYFW debut this year with Calvin Klein. Can you imagine walking a NYFW runway at that age – I was still figuring out mascara at 16 (less is more, as it turns out). Talk about impressive!

Feeling inspired from NYFW? That makes two of us, sister! Here are a couple pieces from my own collections that will have you feeling the Fashion Week vibes well into the winter!

PRESLEY TWEED TROUSER
Go mad in plaid with these posh pants! A retro plaid introduces some serious funk into the usual doldrums of black and tan winter wear. Channel your inner runway every time you slip these on – and remember to work the fringe!

Pro tip: Pair with the Presley Tweed Blouse for an all-over adorable effect!

UNION JILL MAXI SKIRT
Fall into Style with this London inspired maxi skirt! Compliment the trending union jack print with a warm wooly sweater and you’ve got a killer runway look that is still accessible for everyday wear.

Pro tip: Pair with a messy bun for a cool-and-casual look, or dress it up with red lipstick for a more polished finish.
